Tony Howell
Tony Howell's photos show landscape and wildlife. He takes them using natural lighting which makes the photos more interesting in the way that they are seen as the light doesn't focus on one particular area. Taking his at photos at different times during the day shows different textures, lighting and colours of the subject, it also shows shadows in the photo.
Fir Trees
'Fir Trees' was photographed at The Quantocks in Somerset. The photo has been taken using natural lighting which enhance the brown tones, it also creates a spotlight effect on the other trees to make them stand out from the darker colours in the background. The composition of the photo shows the trees in the background as the focus, because of them being brighter, even though the tree in the foreground is closer to the camera. The dark tones contrast well with the lighter tones and make them stand out more from each other.

Tree Ferns
The main colours in this photo are shades of green and some brown. The photo composition shows water in the bottom half of the photo with grass and plants/trees in the top half of the photo. I like the water with the grass and tree ferns but I think that the photo looks quite crowded with all of it. I chose to look at this piece of work as I like the tree ferns and how unusual they are but i think that there is too many shown in the background to have a focal point in the photo. Another photo was taken with this one also showing the tree ferns and the detail of the leaves is interesting. It would look good if the reflections of the grass and trees in the water was enhanced along with the photo composition changed so that it focuses on one thing.

Sumach Tree Leaves
I think that this photo was taken in autumn because of the colours of the leaves. The angle is different and makes it look more different as it focuses on a certain part of the leaf rather than the whole thing. The bright colours of the leaves work well against the black background as it’s not crowded and makes the leaves the focal point. I like the composition of the photo as it shows some of the leaves along with the branch which adds to the colours and contrasts with the brighter ones to stop it looking too bright.
